Couple o' Thoughts
June 2021 2 min read
I wish I was a bird, soaring through the clouds light and dark,
unconstrained by the technicalities of the societal laws.
Flying over the snow-kissed mountains and the huge blue aquatic heavens,
truly free with no worry of the future or the repercussions of the past.
Burdened by their obsessive need to ingratiate and suffering from chronic Anthropophobia,
we have lost ourselves and stuck in an inescapable maze.
Have we become so dim-witted that we are incapable of discrimination between civilization and an interminable fruitless wheel.
For after all for our superior acumen and shrewdness, we are envying the life of a common bird,
but that is the curse of our hearts, we always lust for a thing we have sacrificed or do not possess.
Lusting for wealth in a poor era and technology in an artistic era,
weapons in a peaceful era, and peace during a martial era.
Ironically the lust is what keeps us humans, yearning and searching to discover a new thing every day,
curiosity may kill the cat but gives the apex predator a reason to exist.
Yet still, I wish to vanish off the radar of the man and drown myself in the serenity of mother nature,
nibbling on nuts and bugs traveling and experiencing the fullest of life on my terms before I end up being a part of a nice exotic lunch.
