Love thy Rainbow

hopefulromanticdefiant

This is to everyone who has been shunned, ostracized from our narrow society,
for every guy mocked for not being masculine enough to be in love with a cis female,
for every girl ragged for not being girly enough and not feminine enough for the privileged male,
for every person ridiculed for being aloof, detached, and unromantic,
for every person derided for not being his “biological” gender,
for every person teased for being unsure about themselves.
This is for everyone who has been ostracized courtesy of sexuality.

The “manly” girl in your class doesn’t hate you,
the cute “twink” in your history class isn’t going to pounce on you.
The “guy-turned-girl” isn’t trying to trick you or is your “attention whore”,
nor is the “introverted robotic” person in your stem majors poorly endowed or your typical bore.

The rainbow isn’t propaganda nor an attention-seeking gimmick,
just like the movements orchestrated by Mr. Mandela and Mr. Gandhi it is a means for acceptance and representation.
Look at them the way you look at a rainbow in awe and wonder,
embrace and cherish the differences and crush the narrow bias one might ponder.

A rose field looks good but the tulip gardens look better,
bees do help plants grow but it’s the colorful butterflies that make a garden an earthly haven.
It’s not that the cis doesn’t matter,
everyone matters but this time it’s to ensure that the neglected get accepted to make our planet a utopic haven.

When it’s about love, why hate it,
is it a sin to just love?
Love and let others love.
